Fortunately, we’re not alone in pursuing a more open, inclusive society rooted in trust and sovereignty. The decentralization of social networks introduces new challenges related to governance, remuneration, moderation, and inclusivity. To address these challenges and align with our research objectives, we’re actively collaborating with various networks and organizations that share our mission. SABOA
SABOA Foundation’s support enables our team to tackle complex challenges by partnering with a wider network of dedicated individuals. SABOA is a non-profit foundation dedicated to highlighting often overlooked social issues.
Freedom Not Fear
We’re excited to be part of the Freedom Not Fear community, an annual conference on privacy and digital rights that has been instrumental in shaping our mission. Their support has been invaluable to us. Next conference takes place in Brussels, from 8 to 11 November 2024. You can for sure find us there!
EDPS
Our project is greatly indebted to the European Data Protection Supervisor (EDPS) for their groundbreaking work in integrating self-hosted Fediverse instances into public administration. By carefully studying their experiences, we aim to develop valuable policy recommendations and guidelines for public administrations and civil society actors interested in self-hosting and alternative social media platforms.
NLnet Foundation
With the generous support of the NLnet Foundation, a leading organization in Internet technology research, we are undertaking this significant FediVariety research project: “Integrating the Fediverse into Public Administration, EU Voice-Video case study.” This initiative aligns with the NLnet Foundation’s mission to foster digital innovation and development, providing a valuable opportunity to enhance citizen engagement and transparency within the EU public sector.
